A FIRE DEPARTMENT, AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY IN MOURNING, AFTER THE DEATH OF A MUCH-LOVED WATERTOWN FIREFIGHTER. JOSEPH TOSCANO REMEMBERED FONDLY TONIGHT. AUBURN HOSPITAL AFTER AN APPARENT MEDICAL EPISOD>>THE FAMILY TOOK THE NEWS TERRIBLY. I WAS AT THE HOSPITAL WHEN THEY ARRIVED AND IT WAS DEVASTATING WHEN HIS FIVE KIDS CAME INTO THE ROOM AND HIS WIFE.>>THEY ALL LOST, THEY LOST THE BIGGEST THING IN THEIR LIVES HE WAS ALSO THE FIREHOUSE COOK AND A MAN WHO GAVE HIS FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES A GOOD LAUGH.>>HE DID NOT LIKE CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE, HE WOULD NOT COOK IT.>>ON EVEN THE MOST DIFFICULT OF DAYS>> A TRUE, TRUE GENTLEMAN. AT HOME IN RANDOLPH, HE WAS LOVING HUSBAND AND FATHER RAISING FIVE YOUNG CHILDREN.>>HE WALLS WITH THE KIDS, PLAYING WITH THE KIDS ALL THE TIME. HE ALWAYS IS SMILING AND LAUGHING WITH THE KIDS. I COULDN’T THINK OF A BETTER NEIGHBOR A BETTER GOY HAVE AS NEIGHBOR. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. AM DEVASTATED. REPORTER: THE LOSS HAS SHACK IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. FRIENDS SAY HE WAS MAGNET HERE, DRAWIN PEOPLE TOGETHER. EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW HIS JOB WAS DANGEROUS, THEY NEVER IMAGINED THEY WOULD WITH BE HONORING HIS SACRIFICE.>>YOU EXPECT TO GO TO WORK AS FIREFIGHTERS. MOST DAYS THEY DON’T ARE TO DO ANYTHING. IT IS A DANGEROUS JOB. THIS SHOWS IT. IT IS CLEAR, THIS FAMILY HAD A LOT OF FRIENDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE NEIGHBORS NOW HERE TO SUPPORT THEM.
