Second lawsuit filed against former fireman


WILL FALL FROM THE 40’S TO THE 30’S SOON AFTER SUNSET UNDER CLEAR SKIES AS THE HAZE LINGERS ***NICK*** SHE CLAIMS SHE WAS RAPED AND IS NOW FIGHTING BACK. THE WOMAN WHOSE NAME WILL NOT BE REVEALED IS SUING AUSTIN CORRY AND THE TOWN OF KANOSH. IT’S THE SECOND LAWSUIT AGAINST THE FORMER ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF WHO IS ALSO FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES. FOR EVERY CRIME THERE’S A STORY AND THE TRUTH MATTERS. HERE’S ABC4’S SENIOR CRIME AND PUNISHMENT CORRESPONDENT MARCOS ORTIZ WITH TONIGHT’S JUSTICE FILES. BOTH VICTIMS CLAIM AUSTIN CORRY RAPED THEM AT THE FIRE STATION. AND THEY ALSO CLAIM CORRY’S OWN FATHER, THE FIRE CHIEF IN KANOSH COVERED IT UP. ONE PROSECUTOR IS WORRIED THAT ALL THIS PUBLICITY IS HURTING THEIR CASE IN MILLARD COUNTY. IN THIS LATEST LAWSUIT AGAINST AUSTIN CORRY, THE VICTIM WAS DELIVERING COOKIES TO THE FIRESTATION IN KANOSH. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND THE WOMAN SOON LEARNED CORRY WAS ALL BY HIMSELF AT THE FIRE STATION. THE LAWSUIT CLAIMS CORRY CLOSED DOORS AND RAPED HER. THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE SIMILAR TO THE ALLEGATIONS IN ANOTHER LAWSUIT FILED IN FEDERAL COURT. IN THAT CASE, THE FIRST WOMAN OFFERED CHILLING TESTIMONY ABOUT THE ATTACK AT A PRELIMINARY HEARING IN MILLARD COUNTY. Victim: “He pulled his pants down and he pulled me into him and he laid over the top of me. Victim: “Not very long, I don’t know. I can’t tell you an answer. I don’t know .” IN THE FIRST LAWSUIT, THE VICTIM CLAIMED CORRY’S FATHER, THE FIRE CHIEF OF KANOSH AND A MILLARD COUNTY SHERIFF SARGEANT, WAS NOTIFIED BUT TOOK NO ACTION. SCOTT CORRY HAS SINCE PLEADED NO CONTEST TO OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE CHARGES. MEANWHILE, CORRY IS AWAITING TRIAL IN BOTH OF THE CASES IN MILLARD COUNTY. YESTERDAY, A JUAB COUNTY ASSISTANT ATTORNEY ARGUED FOR A CHANGE OF VENUE IN ONE OF THE CASES SHE CLAIMED ALL THIS PUBLICITY WILL PREJUDICE CORRY’S RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL. Anne Marie Howard, it is not enough to say the details, even though they are quite explicit …. that those are perhaps prejudicial or bad, that those might end.
