Old Springfield Fire Station to Get Remodeled

DAVID IN A TRAFFIC ALERT TONIGHT… DAVID DRIVERS PASSING THROUGH JEFFERSON AVENUE NEAR DOWNTOWN WILL NEED TO FIND ANOTHER ROUTE NEXT WEEK. BEGINNING MONDAY MORNING AT 8 — UNTIL NOON ON FRIDAY THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD SAYS JEFFERSON WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN MONROE STREET AND MADISON STREET SPRINGFIELD FIRE STATION SIX NEAR FASS NIGHT PARK. INTERPRES BUILDING SOLUTIONS RENOVATED THE BUILDING. THE FORMER FIRE STATION WAS UTILIZED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM 1952 UNTIL 2002. THE DEPARTMENT STOPPED USING THE BUILDING BUT CONTINUED USING THE TRAINING TOWER UNTIL 2017. INTERPRES BOUGHT THE BUILDING FROM THE CITY AND WILL USE IT FOR ITS OFFICES. A COMPANY CO-OWNER SAID THEY WANTED TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Brad Palmer of course we’re keeping the training tower. We’re keeping intact as the Springfield landmark that I feel that it is. We wanted to maintain that yet bring it all up to date, make it modern and make it work for our purposes too. So, I feel like we’ve been successful in doing that. HEATHER
