How to make Strawberry Jam Cookies with The Jam Stand

Hi Everyone! Happy Valentines Day. Today we are going to show you how to make
some thumbprint heart shaped cookies for that special someone this year. They are very cute, very tasty, and we will
be using our strawberry jam. Alright, let’s get started. Alright, so to start you are going to cream
2/3 cup sugar with 1 1/2 sticks of softened butter. So just make sure you leave them out at room
temperature, before you start, you don’t want it melted you just want it softened. I’m just going to turn this bad boy on. While Sabrina does that, I am going to start
mixing together all of the dry ingredients. So, we have 1 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon
baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. And you just want to evenly incorporate all of these dry ingredients together. Once your butter and sugar are well mixed
and creamed, you will add 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix this up again. Now that that’s all mixed together, we are
going to incorporate those dry ingredients. You want to make sure once you start mixing
it together, you do it on a low speed otherwise all of the dry ingredients can “whooh.” That. So I’m going to do it on the lowest speed. Once that is done, you’re going to want to
pop that dough into the fridge for at least 30 minutes and allow it to harden up. It’s going to be a sticky dough so you want
to kind of chill it, chill it out a bit, so that when you come to roll it, it’s not a
big sticky mess. We’re going to flour our surface so that the
dough does not stick too much. And we also want to flour our rolling pin. We, again, are going to roll these out so
we can use a heart shaped cookie cutter. If you want to do just a standard thumbprint
cookie you can absolutely do that as well. Roll it into a ball, just stick your thumb
right in the middle, drop the jam in and you’re good to go, but because it’s Valentines Day
we thought it would be cute to use this cute little heart cookie cutter. Yeah. So I still start with a little ball to make
it easier and then I use my rolling pin and I press it ever so gently. And you just press, lift up your excess, and
you can throw it back with your other dough. Also, we are doing these one by one to show
you, but you can also just take the entire dough, roll it all out, cookie cutter every
one and do it like that. In the center, I’m just using my thumb. I chose to make a heart thumbprint, and then
you will use some Strawberry Jam. And then you just fill in the little heart
thumbprint you made. From there you will stick it in the oven. So we’ve already pre-heated our oven to 350
degrees. Start that before you even start putting any
of your ingredients together that way when you get to this step you just pop it in for
15 minutes and you are good to go. Check for those browned edges. So, we have here the finished product, they’ll
look like so, there you go! Very cute. Here you go, Sabbs. Cheers! Happy Valentine’s Day.
